We've benchmarked each and every one of The Division 2's lengthy list of graphics options. The division 2 vs anthem Pc#We've put together a Division 2 PC performance guide to help you achieve the perfect balance between great visuals and high frame rates. With such a short time period to go until The Division 2 is actually out, this beta test likely provides some great insight into the sort of performance we can expect at launch. This is a chance to go hands-on with the co-op loot shooter for four days in one final test ahead of its March 15th launch. Pre-order my new sci-fi novel Herokiller, and read my first series, The Earthborn Trilogy, which is also on audiobook. In case you somehow missed it, the open beta for Tom Clancy's The Division 2 went live today. And then they can all keeping pushing Destiny 2 to improve as well, and Borderlands 3 to…actually come out.įollow me on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. The Division I’m a lot more confident in, but I hope both games push each other to be better. I want Anthem to be good, but I understand why everyone is so hesitant about it. I am looking forward to playing both games, as this is without question, my favorite genre. But if The Division 2 can be released with all its lessons already learned from the original, it may be in a much more solid spot than its rival. Granted, Anthem could look to all these other games and learn from their mistakes, but I wouldn’t bank on it, and I have to assume that it will inevitably run into its own share of issues that will probably take a while to fix after launch. I feel like the only game to get the loot shooter right at the start has been Borderlands. Diablo 3 at launch and Diablo 3 now are close to two entirely different games, given how much Blizzard had to change about the game. Vanilla Destiny was racked with problems it took ages to fix (and is still fixing), The Division, as stated, had severe endgame problems. I also think that Anthem is at a disadvantage not just as an unknown IP, but because these types of games almost always screw up launch. Granted, there isn’t that much to be hyped about at this point, because we’ve seen so little from the game, but this year’s E3 will presumably show off even more, and I would assume it might end up being the centerpiece of the Xbox One presentation yet again, thanks to Microsoft’s ongoing relationship with EA. Second, it’s from BioWare, whose history has been somewhat rocky as of late between Dragon Age Inquisition’s issues (despite all the GOTY praise at the time) and more recently (and tragically) the shelving of the entire Mass Effect franchise after the misstep that was Andromeda.Īs such, I have seen more skepticism about Anthem than I have hype. For one, it’s from EA, which may not be getting voted the “worst company in America” year after year anymore, but still enjoys a certain reputation among some gamers as being prone to screw-ups, and between a high-profile cancelled Star Wars game and Battlefront 2’s loot boxes, 2017 was no exception. I will say Anthem may benefit from…low…expectations? That may seem like a weird thing to say, given that it’s a huge-budget AAA game by a major publisher and developer, but I have definitely felt a lot of cynicism toward the game. If The Division 2 can launch with an early game as good as the original had at launch, and an endgame as good as what it has now, it’s going to be quite the formidable foe indeed. The division 2 vs anthem free#Through DLC in year one and free updates in year two, they turned The Division into a very fun, very functional loot shooter, and they promise that they’ve learned lessons about initial endgame activities for the sequel. But Massive worked hard to turn that narrative around.
